Book Launch & Print Exhibition

Celebrated Hawkesbury artist Greg Hansell launched the two PhotoTour Wildflower Books and the Print Exhibition on 23rd April 2017 at The Village Kitchen gallery restauarant in Kurrajong. He spoke about his own experiences in Western Australia, remarked how much the wildlfowers stand out when the background is stripped away.  You then have an ability to really look into the flower and see all the detail. Greg asked the assembled  crowd to raise their glasses and toast each of the two books.  A sparkling way to launch them both! Jeremy then spoke about the three month journey to Western Australia to follow the wildflower season from the north to the south of the state, and the different flowers discovered at each location, at the same time pointing them out on the wall or in the book.  He also spoke about the difficulty of photographing flowers that are swaying about in the wind when you are trying to focus on a tiny part of the flower. The full text of Jeremy’s speech is here and provides a lot of insight into the Exhibition and the two PhotoTour books.
